Suspicious Device Found in Herndon Not a Threat

Fairfax County and Herndon Police were called to check on a suspicious package at 381 Elden St. on Monday afternoon.

Herndon police closed Post Street along with parts of Elden Street shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday, March 26 after receiving a call about a suspicious package at 381 Elden St.

Herndon police said the device looked to be handmade and was covered in duct tape. Fairfax County police assisted, bringing out robots and x-ray devices to check out the suspicious object, which was deemed to be non-threatening. The area was back open to traffic by 4 p.m.
