Steve DeBenedittis Honored for His Service to the Town of Herndon
Former mayor is a lifelong resident of Herndon.
The Town of Herndon recognized former Herndon Mayor Steve DeBenedittis at Wednesday night's public meeting for his service to the town.
The lifelong resident has lived in Herndon since 1968 and attended Herndon Elementary, Herndon Middle and Herndon High schools. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in marketing management.
DeBenedittis served three consecutive, two-year terms as mayor of Herndon from July 2006 to July 2012. He was instrumental in many projects throughout town including improvements made to Runnymede Park, Chestnut Grove Cemetery, the Herndon Community Center, the Herndon Centennial Golf Course and many others.

Congratulations Steve. Thanks for everything. You deserved all the accolades and more. Also congratulations to Charlie Waddell. His speech read by Connie Hutchinson was the best of the evening in my opinion. (Charlie was overseas visiting Herndon's sister city Runnymede.) Now we know how to keep Charlie's speeches short. Send him overseas.
