Photo of the Day: Herndon High Cheer Honored at Herndon Council Meeting
The team took first place and earned the second highest score ever recorded at the VHSL State Championships in November.
The Herndon Town Council honored the Herndon High School varsity co-ed cheer team with a certificate of congratulations on Tuesday.
The town awarded the team "for a phenomenal season; for winning the Concorde District Title for the 3rd time; for placing 2nd at the Northern Regional Competition; and for winning the Virginia State Championship."
The HHS cheer team won the state championship in November, earning the second highest score ever recorded at the competition.
Additionally, the team was presented with their VHSL State Champion rings on Feb. 22.
