Man Charged in Fox Mill Road Crash

One woman taken to the hospital in Monday incident near Fox Mill Shopping Center

The driver of a Lexus involved in a two-car crash Monday afternoon on Fox Mill Road has been charged with failure to yield right of way, Fairfax County Police said.

A 2001 Toyota Camry was traveling east on Fox Mill Road around 1:30 p.m. Monday when a 2007 Lexus IS250, traveling north on John Milton Drive, attempted to make a right turn onto Fox Mill Road and struck the Camry on the passenger side, said Officer Don Gotthardt, a police spokesman.

An adult female riding in the Camry was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Gotthardt said.

The driver of the Lexus, Philippe J Kuperman, 68, of Reston, was charged with failure to yield right of way.

Not surprised. Seems like people in these parts think they have the right away no matter what. No patience & they are inconsiderate. I despise driving around here & fear an accident on a daily basis. Unfortunately, I'm in sales & in the car all day throughout the DC Metro area.

Lexus driver - I wish I could say I was surprised. I hate generalizing, but Lexus and Mercedes drivers all seem to have a "I own this road" attitude.

You're not alone; I've noticed that, too. I tend to automatically give them a wide berth because of that apparent tendency. Plus, this particular intersection is one where I've seen some very sloppy, careless driving.
