Letter to the Editor: President Obama is 'Strong, Consistent'

Herndon woman says Barack Obama is best choice in Nov. 6 election

To the Editor,

We have a distinct choice in this upcoming Presidential election.

Governor Romney wants to overturn Roe v. Wade,  has advocated for letting
Detroit go bankrupt, wanted to let foreclosures hit bottom, and believes
nearly have of Americans view themselves as victims and want government
handouts. He says he understands us.

He touts Massachusetts's Romneycare, criticizes Obamacare, and wants to
voucherize Medicare. He says he understands us.

He makes $10,000 bets, pays 14% in taxes, put his money in off-shore bank
accounts, and has not released any significant tax history.  He says we
should trust him.

He believes in the unproven "trickle down" theory, says he will balance the
budget by closing loopholes, but will not tell us the details of his plans.
He says we will have to trust him.He has continually changed his positions on the issues of abortion, immigration, stimulus, unions, health care, gun laws, TARP and more.  He says he will be a consistent leader.

He took a gaffe-filled trip to England, insulted the British, insulted the
Palestinians, insulted the Polish, continually attacks the Chinese, and
thinks Syria borders Iran. He took advantage of multiple deferments during
the Vietnam War. He says he will be a good Commander-in-Chief.

President Obama has been a steadfast President who has remained focused
during tough times. In the face of an obstructionist Congress he has
withdrawn our troops from Iraq, captured Osama Bin Laden, prevented the auto
industry from collapsing, halted discrimination against gay military service
members, passed a health care reform act, invested in new technologies,
signed a START nuclear arms treaty with Russia, improved Federal standards
for polluting auto emissions, cut taxes for the middle class and small
businesses, and has won a Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama signed the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, as well as
the Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and the Middle Class Tax Relief
and Job Creation Act. He has instituted tax credits to make it easier for
employers to hire veterans.  Growth is up, manufacturing is up, and jobs
have been added to the economy for over 30 straight months.

President Obama is a strong, consistent, honorable and thoughtful leader who
looks out for all Americans and who took the bold steps necessary to lead
our country back into a slow but steady economic recovery.

Truly Bill,I would think you could come up with some specifics....even an alleged liberal such as myself could find analytical fault with Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize. (For what? Being in the same room with peace makers? Retreating from Iraq?)

Ms. Glakas has written a thoughtful statement of her opinion, and the specifics on which she has based that opinion, that President Obama is the better choice to serve as President for the next four years. This is characteristic of the careful thought and consideration that she has consistently demonstrated in her participation in our community, and I appreciate her contributions. Her statements here are well-founded and I support them and agree with her conclusion -- there is no question that President Obama has accomplished a great deal in the last four years, in spite of recalcitrant opposition, and will continue to accomplish a great deal in his second term. He has been steady and consistent, taking careful and considered positions on issues affecting all of us. His running mate is not an extremist ideologue, but a mature and experience statesman. This is a team that can provide real leadership.

Peggy - as for the extremist ideologue, what goes relatively unnoticed in this campaign is that both Governor Romney and Rep. Ryan openly when asked affirm that they have signed the ideological Grover Norquist (who is to the GOP's right wing version of Mikhail Suslov leading Soviet Communist ideologue and power broker) to never, ever raise taxes no matter what - the same Grover Norquist who has proclaimed a goal of shrinking the government of the United States so it can be "drowned in a bathtub" and flushed down the drain. This is hardly a partisan liberal or conservative issue - it is extremist ideology backed by big money. Congressman Frank Wolf had the courage to condemn Norquist on the floor of and a letter to the House of Representatives.

Name ANY accomplishment obammy has done! Just ONE, will suffice. I take it you must love socialism, for a vote for obammy, is a vote for socialism. Let's take from the rich and give to those who want it! More 'illegal aliens' in this country than fleas, and more blacks, mexicans and others that receive food stamps and welfare, and it's no wonder those cities in Calif are going broke. Don't tell me obammy has accomplished anything, anything but socialism! If it's socialism you want, you can have it, and keep it, but not me, I don't ever want to be part of a socialist government or live under it's dictates.

Richard Wahl does what supporters of morally bankrupt candidates always do. He uses name-calling because the facts don't support his extremist political positions. In fact, he dives to the bottom of the name-calling barrel by playing the "Hitler" card a few posts above this one.

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney has changed his professed positions so many times during this campaign that he is starting to suffer from motion sickness.

Vote for Obama. Use your brains!

As several people have famously said, you are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts. To pick just one, Medicare is now providing more services to seniors and costing them less. This is one part of the Affordable Care Act that has already gone into effect. As long as we don't adopt the Ryan plan, Medicare will continue to provide guaranteed health coverage for our seniors at a lower administrative cost than any private insurer.

Obama's first term has nearly destroyed this country, and if he is reelected there is little doubt he will finish the job. He has saddled us with a 16 TRILLION dollar debt, that is expected to rise to at least 20 trillion if he is back. He has alienated our friends with his gaffes like giving the Queen a tape of his speeches, snubbing Netanahu, bowing down to the King of Saudia Arabia, Lying about the Benghazi terrorist attack, placing his hand over his crotch during the playing of the National Anthem, refusing to wear the traditional flag pin, saying this is no longer a Christian Nation, untruthfully giving muslims credit for great American accomplishments, apologizing for America, telling the Russians he will have "more flexibility" after the election. Must I go on? The list is long. His is an administration of incomptence, joblessness, welfare, food stamps, and racism. He has divided this country like never before, It's time to elect a business man, who has actually accomplished something, starting and running a large company, creating jobs, and coming across as presidential to world leaders. One who can reinforce our ties to our friends, and not be fooled by our enemies. He also has a vice president who knows a great deal about financial management, and is not just a laughing clown like our current VP. Let's keep this country from going under, and get it moving back to prosperity and strength. PLEASE vote for Romney and Ryan, and get the America haters out of office.

Putting aside all your other misinformed positions, Richie, America is not, nor has it ever been, a Christian nation. If you want government by religion you end up with The Inquisition, the Ayatollahs, and the Taliban. Thank God our Founders were too smart for that. Instead they wrote in the Constitution about Freedom of Religion and Freedom FROM Religion. That's freedom of, not domination by religion.

Ronald, you need to recheck your facts. The 16 Trillion in debt is almost entirely Republican debt. I always for vote for Democratic Presidents for one simple reason: for decades, Democrats have been the only ones who take the debt seriously.

Look at the Reagan era, when the Debt was quadrupled. Clinton balanced the budget and paid off some of that Reagan debt, but then Bush got elected and wiped those gains out by tripling the debt again. Since we had a balanced budget under Clinton, and since treasuries are, at most, 30 year instruments, 100% of the debt inherited by Obama was Republican debt.

Of the debt that was added during the Obama admistration, only one small portion was due to Obama policies. Nearly all of it was due to the wars that Bush put on a credit card, the unfunded Medicare prescription drug program that Bush started, and the $400 billion per year Bush tax cuts (which are what opened up the structural deficit in the first place). The only part that is due to an Obama policy amounts to less than 4% of the debt and was caused by the stimulus which was not a policy Obama would have wanted but was only required to respond to the Bush recession. Most economists agree that the recovery act prevented the Bush recession from becoming the Bush depression.

Mitt Romney is proposing to add $7 Trillion to the debt through tax cuts for the rich and $2 trillion in defense spending that the Pentagon does not even want - talk about government waste!

The president can't overturn Roe v. Wade (it's that inconvenient separation of powers thing), but the president can appoint supreme court justices. Not every president gets that opportunity, but the next president is likely to appoint at least one and maybe more. Romney and Ryan have made clear that they consider women's control over their own health care issues to be a "shiny object" with no real importance or significance. They have made clear that they are opposed to abortion rights, although they sometimes allow for some exceptions (this seems to vary with the audience). They have made clear that they would support a "personhood" bill that would not only make abortion criminal, but would also criminalize many forms of birth control. This is enough for any woman to be opposed to these guys occupying a position of power, but they have equally anti-woman positions on economic issues for women, like equal pay for equal work. Romney says he favors flexibility so that women can get home at 5:00 and make dinner -- he has refused to say whether he favors paying women and men the same wages for performing the same job.

Mr. Wahl - Your uninformed and racist babbling is undoubtedly making many Romney supporters think twice about voting along with the likes of you. You're doing a great service to the Obama Campaign. Your defense of your comment "more 'illegal aliens' in this country than fleas, and more blacks, mexicans and others that receive food stamps and welfare" with your self-indictment of abusive, racist and defamatory scrawling "I do stand by my statements, and if you cannot handle that, then let me suggest to you very strongly, that you stay with the political correct crybabies and take it like a 'man'! This is not about "political correctness;" statements such as yours are "politically un-American" and indeed are disavowed by Governor Romney and all decent Republicans. As for us "political correctness crybabies" I'll gladly take the label if it means those who defend the rights of all Americans: whites, blacks and mexicans that you so proudly despise. In responding to you, I'm engaged in what one Patch editor has referred to as "feeding the trolls" so I'm done...with a natural disaster impending I'm sure that Patch readers have more important things to do than read the racist Looney Tunes Sunday comics.

Is there a new mantra for Romney-Ryan followers?
@Richard Wahl 11:28 am Sun Oct 28: "I also stand by whatever else I said, and will not never back down from them."

Gov. Romney has used a similar line several times. For example, the most notable was last May, referring to a February interview. Several sources/versions:
1. http://gop12.thehill.com/2012/05/romney-stands-by-february-comments-on.html
5-17-12, reporting on Florida event; Gov Romney: “I’m not sure what I said, but I stand by it whatever it was.”
2. http://washingtonexaminer.com/romney-i-stand-by-what-i-said-whatever-it-was/article/1299111 5-17-12. "I'm not familiar with what was said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was," he said, adding that he would take a look at the quote cited by the reporter.

3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJwmeG5n2Zg - Statement, from video: "Uh, I'm actually not familiar with precisely with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was. And with regards to, uh, I'll go back and take a look at what was said there."

It is commendable when people stand by what they say. It is also helpful if they know what they said and are consistent in what they stand for. This is not true of Gov. Romney on a majority of topics.
Pres. Obama and VP Joe Biden are consistently committed to values and policies that realistic people can support.

I agree with these Obama supporters and will be voting for our Dear Leader. Think of where we would be if Obama was not elected President four years ago:

Without Obama unemployment would still be up around 8%.
Without Obama our welfare rolls would have expanded to nearly 50 million.
Without Obama our embassies would now be torched and our ambassadors killed.
Without Obama Iraq would have become a friend of Iran allowing them to send weapons to Syria over their land and air routes.
Without Obama our annual deficit would be doubled to over a trillion dollars and our debt raised from $10 to $16 trillion on its way to $25 trillion.
Without Obama our Constitution would have been shredded and czars appointed and executive orders countermanding our laws proliferated.
Without Obama we would not be energy independent and would be vassals to the OPEC jihadists.
Without Obama we would have a President cutting secret unconstitutional deals and treaties with Vlad Putin.

So a big thanks that we have Obama who has ensured none of this would ever happen.
Oh! The alarm just went off - I have to wake up now and go back to the real world.

Bill - You had me concerned there a second that you had been engaging in a political sham all this time. But, I would disagree that we've had a "President cutting secret unconstitutional deals and treaties with Vlad Putin." If a treaty is ratified by the US Senate, by definition of the Constitutionit is legal - not "unconstitutional" and indeed "the supreme law of the land." If it is "secret" it isn't a treaty. Some of your other claims are debatable....the term "OPEC jihadists" isn't exactly accurate: the GCC States such as Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and even Saudi are hardly "jihadist" (Al Qaeda seeks to topple the House of Saud and the Kingdom, and establish a Caliphate - that does not, by the way, include Iran). Nigeria, Venezuela, Angola, and Brunei are hardly "jihadist." Being that you are in as advanced youth as I am, Bill you should know that far worse..far worse has happened to our embassies and diplomats under Republican Presidents and Democrat Presidents long before Obama...Vice President Nixon being almost killed in a riot in Venezuela; the bombing and destruction of our Embassy and Marine Barracks in Beirut, the killing of our Ambassador in Kabul in 1976; in Khartoum under Nixon; and in Cyprus under Ford, etc. etc. BTW - we haven't been energy independent since at least gas rationing started in 1973. I'm going to disengage as I'm looking for a place to volunteer for the storm. Stay safe.

I support President Obama for many of the reasons that Ms. Glakas cited. I also feel that he will do a better job than Governor Romney of moving the country toward energy independence and away from a total dependence on petroleum products. He will also be stronger on environmental protections. I fully understand why the wealthy support Governor Romney, but find it hard to understand why the middle class would vote for someone who does not have their interests at heart. This is Obama:

The real flip-flopper is Obama... Obama has done that so many times it's hard to keep track. He voted against increasing the debt limit, and then supported raising it. Campaigned against the Bush tax cuts, and then extended them. Promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term, and then doubled it. Vowed the unemployment rate would be below 8% if his stimulus was passed, but then it broke 10%. Only an artificial stimulus by the Federal Reserve now has it under 8%, barely. Promised shovel ready jobs, then admitted they weren't shovel ready. Said if you like your health plan you can keep it, but then threw seniors off Medicare Plus and employers are now saying they'll dump people onto the public exchange. Promised to have health care negotiations on live tv, but then reversed himself. Indicated Bush violated the Constitution, then carried out warrantless wiretaps, indefinite detentions, secret renditions, quadrupled drone attacks, and kept Guantanamo Bay open. Voted against the Patriot Act, but then supported its extension. Said lobbyists wouldn't work in the White House, then gave them waivers to work there. Vowed to take public financing for his 2008 campaign, then refused it when he realized he would receive more without it. Obama said his administration would be the most transparent in history. Yet his lies and coverup attempts on Benghazi are still at hand, while he tries to wait it out past the election.

There is plenty in the President's record to which a progressive might have serious objections, but even if his accomplishments numbered only half as many as Barbara Glakas has enumerated, it would still be a remarkable record, easily meriting a second term.

He has been obstructed at every step by reactionaries. In what passes for their thought processes, a mere oath of office is clearly trumped by an oath to the plutocrat-funded Grover Norquist, whose stated goal is to cripple the government (and prevent it from being there to stand between rapacious billionaires and the rest of us). The very Republican Leader of the U. S. Senate declared long ago that the foremost task of that party would be precisely such obstruction (the needs of the country be damned), on the gamble that the voting public would join them in blaming the President for failing to advance exactly those policies they have done their utmost to thwart -- as though the President could pass legislation on his own. I guess we'll see if their gamble pays off.

As much as I could wish that the President had spent more time and political capital calling them out instead of repeatedly trying to reason with unreasoning people, I for one join Barbara Glakas in strongly supporting his bid for re-election.

For many of the same reasons cited by Ms. Glakas, I also support the reelection of President Obama. Within a few months of his taking office in 2009, the economy began to turn around. This did not happen by itself but as a result of the stimulus package that was passed by Congress. Instead of losing over 700,000 jobs every month prior to and shortly after President Obama took office, we have now seen jobs added every month for over 30 months in a row. Housing values have bottomed and are now increasing at a steady rate. The stock market has more than doubled since March of 2009 and 401k's and other retirement plans have come back from exteme losses. We were facing an economic collapse like none we have ever seen in our lifetime unless you lived through the Great Depression. Now, in 2012, the economy is growing slowly, but steadily. Considering where we have come from, I consider this a great accomplishment. Of course there is more to do but I trust President Obama to continue to lead us into a brighter future.

LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, Turn around??????, surely you jest. Where have you been this last four years? Good grief, it hasn't turned around, just the fake numbers have been given to make this socialist look like he's actually done something. These past FOUR years, have been a disaster! LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, A brighter future???? Lady, and I use the term loosely, where have you been? In this country? Or did you just land here from some other planet! This is exactly what I mean, this socialist has you like a zombie, and following like some lost sheep. This is the worst our country has ever been, and the debt?.......it's, like, out of sight! Go check, don't sleep walk, actually and physically go check it out!

This is just getting silly. Simply saying over and over again, more and more loudly, that Obama is a socialist and a Muslim, that the economic numbers are all wrong and we're really in decline, etc., etc., just add a thing to the discussion. OK, we know everyone's wrong but you, in your opinion. Also that you have too much time on your hands. Now would you please STFU unless you actually have something new to say?

This suggests a great polling idea: let's ask every Republican on Capitol Hill what s/he thinks of doing anything to stop global warming, and the consequent rise of the oceans. For that matter, what do YOU think of it?

New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie's remarks about President Obama’s response to Hurricane Sandy:

- Christie praised President Obama’s work to help states battered by Hurricane Sandy as “outstanding,” saying Obama had moved quickly to help designate his state a disaster area to better expedite federal assistance.

- Christie recently tweeted that Obama had called him on Monday afternoon and told him that if he needed anything to call him directly. "I appreciated that leadership and I will if/when we do," Christie wrote.

- “The federal government’s response has been great. I was on the phone at midnight again last night with the president, personally, he has expedited the designation of New Jersey as a major disaster area.”

- “Last night, I was on the phone with FEMA at 2 a.m. this morning to answer the questions they needed answered to get that designation and the president has been outstanding in this. The folks at FEMA, [FEMA Administrator] Craig Fugate and his folks have been excellent.”

- “The president has been all over this and deserves great credit. He gave me his number at the White House and told me to call him if I needed anything.”

Why are people debating with @ William Campenni and @Richard Wahl? No one is going to change their minds. Everyone can give them all the facts they want all day long and they will find a way to give you a counter statement with their "Facts". The minute they typed Obammy they lost all creditability when they can't even argue their thoughts like mature adults, rather they start off with name calling and spouting birther talk. As far as they are concerned OBAMA not OBAMMY is a socialist, "hitler", gonna take from the rich and give to the poor, make everyone pay for the less privileged, increase the deficit, take away bayonets, and well destroy the US as a whole. They are entitled to their opinions and that's all they are narrow minded opinions. People like this have been around since the beginning of time, we aren't going to change their thinking. Facts are never going to change their mind, they need to spout off these racist opinions - we are a free country so they can and must let them. These are the same type that were against: interracial marriage, black votes, women votes, equal rights, and segregation. In time they were proven wrong and in time it'll happen again. So till then spout away your racist comments and we know from history you're in the minority and always will be.

Good points, except that the knuckleheads sometimes gain a majority for a while. It is more likely if someone with a whole lot of money is behind them, cynically using them to advance a different agenda, such as tax breaks and other government benefits for the rich people who finance the "popular movement." I don't think we liberals and moderates are the ones who are asleep and being led.

The problem: humanity does not have a century or many decades to prove "climate deniers" wrong (for one thing). @A.Lubber: "In time they were proven wrong and in time it'll happen again. So till then spout away... "

Women's Suffrage timeline: http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/naw/nawstime.html .

Republicans have passed bills since they took control of the House in 2010 that clearly predict the agenda a Romney administration would establish. He (they) won't say what they intend to do because a vast majority of people with brains & common sense would not vote for them.

They have targeted, or will target: EPA, NASA, NOAA, NSF, USGS, highways, rail, national parks/forests, education, college tuition grants, public schools, agricultural modernization, green energy, energy & ocean conservation, food & drug safety, science research, law enforcement, youth programs, school lunches, low-income housing.
Oh, yeah -- and health care of course -- repealing Obamacare then voucherizing it to enrich insurance companies, drive up overhead costs and drive more seniors nuts just trying to figure it out!

You need to get off the computer and get people out to vote against the Rip-and-Rape team while enough of our nation and the planet are still left to salvage. Voters need to even swallow the fact that the incumbent Pres is not blond and blue-eyed and vote for him because he IS competent and cares about sustaining people on this planet. ALL people -- not just Grover Norquist's slaves.

Ann, I agree - However, although Mr. Wahl's pathetic rantings speak for themselves, Bill Campenni is not in the same category. Bill is a Vietnam fighter pilot veteran and a highly educated and compassionate American hero. We are a free country because of people such as Bill. He does not scrawl about "Obammy" and there isn't one racist cell in his body....and he does not spout off racist opinions that could be as interpreted as advocating (and indeed, when Mr. Wahl is called to task for them he is eager to stand by them and taunts those who criticise him for it with name-calling.) Mr. Wahl and many of the knuckle heads who keep chanting nonsense thinking it'll turn into fact (e.g. Obama is a "Muslim Socialist") are not like Bill Campenni by any stretch of the imagination. Although I don't agree with some of Bill's politics I respect his opinions despite my being the target at times of his wry wit. Ann, your including Bill in your comments about racists and the other guy is wrong and frankly is as baseless and senseless as Mr. Wahl's baby talk. You are free to ignore Bill's opinions but I will say that they are all, if you were to discuss them with Bill, backed with reason and analysis, even if some of us would disagree.

This just in: New Jersey TV stations report tat Donald Trump strode out to the shore in Atlantic City yesterday, as nightfall approached, to command the storm to turn back. "Mr. Trump does not believe the media reports about the storm's origin," a spokesperson explained, "so he challenges its right to be active in this country."

Mr. Trump's current status and whereabouts are unknown.

After viewing the video, Atlantic City hairdresser Mr. Gaylord commented, "This is the first time I've seen a storm like this make a man's hair look better."

He also gives instructions to Federal agencies well as suggests things citizens can individually do.

We know Bill's background and appreciate his service to the country.
But what brought that up? Where did I say anything about Bill? Dunno. I suggested Wahl use the local Patch of his current residence in Calif... I posted a harmless little note about the highest ground in the U.S. . . but what the heck did I do to warrant a lecture from you on Bill Campenni's life history, intelligence and "style"? I know his positions are rooted in facts and carefully crafted, whether I agree or not is not an issue. Some folks just have to agree to disagree.
So where did I include Bill in something about racists? ...or even say anything about racists in this thread?

Well, we seem to have another troll in Don Joy. Most scientists who have studied the phenomenon seem to agree we really have a substantial global climate change taking place, probably caused in large part by carbon-based fuel emissions. There's room for reasonable disagreement about what to do about it, but those big sheets of ice falling off Antarctica sure don't look like a hoax.

Governor Romney, probably counseled by former CIA and NSA Director General Hayden who has served as one of his advisors - has kept his mouth shut about Looney Tunes reports of "lies," "deceit" and so forth in the right wing press. The CIA has released some details about the Intelligence Cycle which have appeared in the media such as the link here from the NY Times -

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/02/world/africa/cia-played-major-defensive-role-in-libya-attack.html?pagewanted=1&_r=0

Intelligence officers who stand watch in watch centers performing indications and warnings intelligence and those who plan or execute non combatant emergency evacuation operations know about the "fog of war," conflicting reports, and understand the difficulties of getting people out of harm's way. Governor Romney appears to have been made aware of that, and despite his lack of experience in foreign affairs and national security has the smarts and tact to not attempt to make a campaign issue based on yellow journalism and speculative opinions. That might, in fact, arguably be one of the reasons that could be given to vote for him, simply because, in this case at least he doesn't regurgitate drivel and treat speculation as fact..

I saw Obama yesterday claiming the new job numbers are proof that his policies are working and that we are in an economic recovery... Fact is, that is not the truth, or even close to the truth...
First, the unemployment rate ticked up to 7.9% and the year-to-date monthly average of 157,000 payroll jobs is barely enough to keep up with population growth -- much less make up for the 8 million jobs lost during the Great Recession.
Second, the so-called real unemployment rate (U6) remains elevated at 14.6%, albeit down from 14.7% the prior month. Similarly, the labor participation rate is at 63.8%, up from its multi-decade low but still incredibly weak.
Third, average hourly earnings fell a penny in October and average hours worked fell to 34.4 from 34.5 in September.
Stagnant wages means "we're not generating income," Reinhart says. "That's a problem in terms of the durability of an economic expansion, which is usually fueled by consumption. To get consumption you've got to generate income."
Also, just look at your checkbook. We are paying a lot more for everything now than we did in 2008. The price of gas has doubled. At the same time, wages have gone down, and that's if you're lucky to have a job.
In 2008, 25 banks went out of business. In 2012, 48 banks have gone out of business. Almost double the amount. Does that sound like recovery to you? Don't believe the Obama lies!!

The Battling Bastards of Benghazi

We're the Battling Bastards of Benghazi,
no fame, no glory, no paparazzi.
Just a firey death in a blazing hell,
defending the country we loved so well.
It wasn't our job, but we answered the call,
fought to the consulate, 'n scalled th' wall.
We pulled twenty countrymen from the jaws of fate,
led them to safety, 'n stood at th' gate.
Just the two of us, 'n foe by th' score,
but we stood fast to bar th' door.
We called for reinforcement, but it was denied,
so we fought, 'n we fought, 'n we fought, 'n we died.
We gave our all for our Uncle Sam,
'n Obama didn't give a damn,
just two dead SEALS, who carried the load,
no thanks to us, we were just bumps in the road.

And how do you like Michael Brown, the face of cluelessness during Katrina, criticizing Obama for responding "too quickly" to Hurricane Sandy? The irony is thick enough to cut with a chainsaw, not so?

Let's keep it simple: FEMA worked under CLinton, thanks to James Lee Witt. The Bush administration trashed it by reallocating resources from everything else to terrorism, and not doing that very effectively, and by appointing too many political hacks like Michael Brown. Now FEMA works well again. It's called leadership and competence. See?
