Home for the Holidays Raises $2K for Fisher House
Second annual event benefited home for military families who are visiting loved ones in nearby medical centers.
The Helping Others Home for the Holidays fundraiser for Fisher House filled JJ Deli with holiday cheer Friday.
The event included local businesses and vendors selling holiday gifts, as well as demonstrations on how to prepare for the holidays, holiday food and more. About $2,000 was raised for Fisher House.
Fisher House helps provide military families a home away from home when they’re visiting with their soldiers who are receiving treatment at military medical centers.
The event also included a gift basket that included about $1,000 of free goods and gift certificates to local businesses that was raffled off. Town of Herndon employee Michelle Flores was the raffle winner.
