Herndon Police Report - Jan. 23-29

The Herndon Police reported that someone shoplifted meat from a business in the 400 block of Elden Street.

 

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from Jan. 23 through Jan. 29, 2012:

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 10:15 a.m. on Jan. 26 in the 700 block of Birch Court.
• The victim reported seeing two subjects attempting to peek inside the window of their residence at 10:37 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
• Justin Lacy, 20, and Christian Polito, 19, both of Herndon, were issued summonses for alleged underage possession of alcohol at 1:57 a.m. on Jan. 27 in the 900 block of Herndon Parkway.
• A noise complaint was reported at 10:23 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue. 

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• A fence was reported damaged by a vehicle that fled the scene at 8:31 p.m. on Jan. 23 in the 1400 block of Bayshire Lane.
• Marvin Benitez, 29, of Reston, was arrested for allegedly driving on a suspended license at 1:17 p.m. on Jan. 25 in the 1100 block of Crestview Drive. 

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 3:24 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the 300 bloc of Herndon Parkway.
• A subject attempted to shoplift a jacket and candy from a business at 3:27 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A subject reportedly shoplifted meat from a business at 8:04 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A subject attempted to shoplift champagne from a business at 2:45 p.m. on ja.n 27 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Nestor Vasquez Gonzalez, 24, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged larceny at 4:07 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A subject deposited a counterfeit check in their bank account at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 24 in the 400 block of Elden Street. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• A residence was entered between 10 p.m. on Jan. 22 and 6 a.m. on Jan. 23 and a purse was reported stolen in the 1300 block of Grant Street.
• Ruben Perez, 34, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged assault and obstructing telephone communication in an emergency at 4:04 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 900 block of Park Avenue.
• Robert Costanza, 55, of Sterling, was arrested for alleged assault at 11:52 a.m. on Jan. 26 in the 600 block of Spring Street. 

CENTER DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 8:29 p.m. on Jan. 28 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• The tire of a parked vehicle was reported damaged at 8:52 a.m. on Jan. 23 in the 1100 block of Herndon Parkway.
• The victim reported their vehicle had been keyed at 5:22 p.m. on Jan. 23 in the 1000 block of Herndon Parkway. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• Charles Trimble III, 27, of Lexington, MD, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated at 11:37 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 300 block of Herndon Parkway.
• Joshua Smoot, 23, of Herndon, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated at 11:35 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the 400 block of Spring Street.
• Daniel Temesgen, 30, of Alexandria, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated at 1:53 a.m. on Jan. 28 in the 700 block of Elden Street.
• Sean Nam, 37, of Ashburn, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated at 2:37 a.m. on Jan. 29 near the intersection of Elden and Center streets.
• Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Jan. 23-29: three incidents of reckless driving, four incidents of driving under the influence, 51 incidents of speeding, one incident of no operators license, one incident of driving while on a suspended or revoked license, and 11 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
