These Herndon-area happenings can make your week a little brighter.
1. The Rotary Club of Herndon meets for its regular meeting Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. at Amphora Diner. Speakers will include Kathy Beck and Signe Friedrichs.
2. Classical Ballet Theatre performs The Nutcracker this weekend in Annandale. Performances take place at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Find more details here.

4. Stick around after the Gingerbread Man Mile and enjoy the annual Reston Town Center Holiday Parade on Friday at 11 a.m. The parade includes bands, balloons, dancers and more.
5. The Herndon Fraternal Order of Police is holding a Toys and Joys Day fundraiser to give back to families in the area. The event will include family friendly activities from 4-8 p.m. at Breakers Sky Lounge. More information is available here.
