ArtSpace is currently hosting a new exhibit, International Pen and Brush, that spans the Atlantic Ocean.

The exhibit includes paintings inspired by poetry and poetry inspired by paintings from artists from the United States and the United Kingdom. Thirty-two artists and poets are taking part in the exhibit and have been collaborating for the past year to create the works.

International Pen and Brush, which opened Dec. 3, will run through Jan. 23, 2011 before it is shipped to Herndon's sister city, Runnymede, England for a May 2011 exhibit. The following videos are from the openening reception, held Dec. 5, where artists read their poems and talked about their paintings.

The exhibit was sponsored by the Surrey Council, Runnymede Bourough Council, Virginia Commission for the Arts Local Challenge Grant administered by the Town of Herndon, and the Arts Council of Fairfax County.
